各位朋友:

我們面對人力、財力優厚的政黨，以微薄的資源完成選舉工程，並且得到議席，我感激市民對我的信任和認同。除了競選團隊成員不眠不休，發揮驚人韌力之外，許多素未謀面的朋友自發向親友拉票，還有十六萬多位選民通力為支持民主投票，一同實現民主派在港島取得四席的共同期望。政黨不能達到的目標，選民走在黨派前頭，用集體智慧，做到了。

讓我為各位喝采：支持民主的朋友贏了這場選舉。

未來十年，對香港發展至為重要。我們要處理政改方案，隨時出現的23條，更有貼近市民生活的經濟轉型、教育質素、環保、城規、公眾健康、貧富懸殊等問題。請各位監察我的工作，落實為人民服務的承諾。

Dear all,

Thank you for this hard won election. We had to compete with well established political parties with little resources. It is your trust and approval that brought us here. I am grateful.

I have to thank my wonderful campaign team. Young graduates worked 24 hours in the small office. People whom I’ve never met organized campaigns on their own. Some rallied for support in their offices. Some went bar-hopping to distribute flyers. I am grateful.

Amazingly, 160,000 voters joined hands to vote strategically for the democrats. The goal of getting 4 seats in the Island constituency was lost and found. People achieved where political parties failed. Bravo to the people!

The next 10 years will be critical for Hong Kong. We have to deal with constitutional reform, Article 23, economy, education, environment protection, town planning, public health and poverty. All these issues are pressing. We need you to stay in touch with us. Let us hear your thoughts, and let’s pool knowledge and wisdom to build a better Hong Kong.
